Shadow Nanoflex Piezoelectric acoustic guitar pickup hum reduction.
Many Piezoelectric pickup systems tend to be noisy due to their very high impedance. Low frequency hum from the mains can be annoying but this cheap solution is easy to install, and easy to reverse if you want to revert to factory spec.

VTVM Circuit Description - DETAILED
Переглядів 1,2 тис.5 місяців тому
Be prepared. Bring food, water and an overnight bag: In this video I walk you through the theory of operation of a typical Heathkit or Kyoritsu VTVM. The circuits are very similar between brands with only minor differences. Sometimes the meter drive circuit is found at the Plates of the 12AX7 or whatever tubes are used, but otherwise the idea is the same throughout.

Very good advice! I am sure many people throw perfectly good cables that are just a bit dirty on the plugs. I almost did and this video gave me the solution!
Thanks for sharing, whilst I did my own oil change recently. I now know the next level, getting under that fuel tank.
Oil Filter 13 Ft Lbs. use thin layer of oil on rubber gasket of filter. Drain Bolt 21 Ft Lbs. use new crush washer. Recheck oil level after starting as oil filter is empty. Never check oil on pit or center stand. (Note: Oil filter hand or just beyond hand tight and drain bolt snugged up works just fine) BTW-excellent video!!
Hey man, I have the same fender 212r and Squier duo that you had in the vid! But I think something is wrong with it. Whenever I plug in a distortion pedal and crank the distortion past twelve o'clock the more drive yellow light kicks on and it sounds like I dropped by guitar on the floor and starting stomping on it. This sound continues for a good 5-10 seconds then stops. Except I didn't play anything or drop my guitar and stomp on it lol. My conclusion is a bad cable because it doesn't happen when I play with my new cable. But I don't know for sure and I'm not an expert. Anyways great video and hope you can help me man!
That's a weird behaviour. Probably you're right about the cable but I'd check the soldering of the big resistors as described in the video. It's still the most likely cause of your noise, possibly in the early stages. Good luck 🤞
Subbed!
My issue with the Rotary Encoders is, when i turn the knob to the next position the effect will not change or to a different/false one. It started on the Delay section but spread like a virus over to most of the encoder switches... i really want to replace the pots/ fix the ME but couldnt find the exact right replacement pots... can anybody help here?
Same problem here. I can't find replacement pots anywhere.
You can just slide the plate down and out of the way. You don't have to bend it.
I didn't bend it. Not really sure what you mean. Maybe later versions are different?
Awesome Derek... Great to see you face.
Thanks! Can't see your name 😢

Not surprising some of our most famous rock bands listened to and learned from some of the most famous early composers. This was fabulous. 🌌😊
Perhaps it would’ve been a good idea to wash the bike especially around the oil filter. Very useful video 👍
Poor Fender, why even bother buying their pcb tube amps. The original point to point design was the reason that they became famous, now they've devolved into cheap chinese amps.
That brought back tons of memories!
Brilliant demo. Thank you very much 😊
you must have a lot of miles on your Z to have worn the spark plugs like that
Lol 🤣 back to the bench
Bloody thank you mate. This was pissin me off. No circle hole in the bottom of the new replacement mags. You did it. Thanks much sir, Jonesy, USA
Great job. Thanks for sharing mate 👍
These leds especially white and blue render these beautiful classics very cold
I have this guitar, but first I had the BR160. I traded that brand new 160 for my BR60 because it sounded so much better than the all solid 160.
Thank you.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
You guys don’t wash the bike before you work on it ?
Mate great job and very informative....thanks
Nobody called out plugs at 15k? Insane.
Thanks so much for making this. Especially the various connectors, usually a source of angst for me.
Bel lavoro grazie della condivisione! Domattina cambierò l’olio e il filtro olio. Sono a 10.500km. Filtro aria e candele aspetterò almeno 20.000/25.000 km ma lo farò fare in officina: troppo complesso! Bravo 👍
Love that flat green colour. Sadly we don't get it here in Canada.
Very interesting. 👍👍. At under 10,000 miles that's quite early to change spark plugs and air filter. To be honest, that air filter didn't look bad, just surface dirt but when you flipped through the filter the inner paper looked clean. The electrodes on even the new spark plugs looked very thin. 🤷🏼♂️. Anyway, better safe than sorry.
Derek, it’s a fact, your Oxford grips are designed to Auto shut off after a short period with key in ignition off position. It’s a feature benefit that is clearly stated in the installation instructions.
I did read the instructions and I'm fully aware of that but I do feel better having the system definitely switched off when the ignition key is turned off. Now it's doubly safe.
I put a super distortion in there. Perfect
I found hairspray to be an effective lubricant and bonding agent
I've had a Super-sonic 60 since 2006 and the noise floor is so high and I'm so disappointed. Been trying to find a mod to lower the noise floor and finally found something that might help! Thank you so much!!! and Cheers from Iceland! :)
Blessadur! I hope you have success. I have been in Iceland many times. (Ex Air Atlanta). Let me know how it goes.

Und wo genau sind die Untertitel???
Thanks for sharing am I right in saying this could a way of setting up the deviation and also I guess you could use this method for a sniffer pick up for a frequency counter?
Yes you can do that too if you have a deviation meter for FM
This is a great informative video Derek, it has helped me no end. Thank you.
This is a most excellent presentation. I've sent the link to a number of fellow ham radio operators. I have a VTVM that I use to calibrate voltage-controlled oscillators when I repair radios as a digital meter cannot integrate quickly enough at radio frequencies. I prefer the VTVM to an oscilloscope for this purpose.
Thanks for the Kudos. I have taken another look at the video, which is an unedited, "warts and all" video, and have been contemplating making a cleaner version, (maybe a series of videos) to better explain the function and design. I will probably do that using a FET VOM, which is very similar.
@@DerekHerbst747 That sounds very good. I need to find the schematic for my VTVM and also change out the rest of the capacitors. I don't own a FET VOM and should probably add one to my collection. Most of the time, I use my Rigol DMM for measurements, but DMMS don't integrate fast enough for RF - this fact is lost on most of the younger players. If you have a favorite FET meter, let me know and I'll try to get one. 73 de N4HPG
@@billcrowell5096 have a few. My go-to is a Kyoritsu K-200, but I also really love my Grundig UV-4 and the UV-5 is also amazing.
Hi, thank you for sharing this. Does your bike have the standard air/fuel tuning or did you remap the ECU? 5000 km ago I did the fuel remap and now I'm curious to see how different is the colouring of my spark plugs compared to the stock tuning.
The bike is totally standard.
Can you comment on the input resistance and/or impedance vs. input frequency of the meter at the various scales of the ohms and voltage, both ac and dc, functions? Thanks.
The meter has a constant 1.4 Megaohm input impedance for AC and 11 Megaohm for DC. The AC voltage accuracy (5% FSD) is not as good as the DC (3% FSD) because the wire wound resistors in the Range selection circuit have an inductive element, which skews the AC measurement with varying frequencies. The stated frequency range for 3% accuracy is 30Hz - 500kHz. Some manufacturers include parallel capacitors in the range select circuit resistors to offset this phenomenon.
Lekker! I always get lost when I look at meter circuits due to the switches everywhere. Great job. 👍
Yes, Derek's tracing of the paths was very helpful. The schematic was clear which helps a lot.
Good information to know. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Thanks for the video. Very informative! I was planning on building a ground plane antenna for airband, but after seeing your video, the dipole sounds more and more appealing. Have you tried to mount the dipole perfectly vertical and see if it makes a difference in the signal quality?
Basically if she’s running well in clean type roads not dusty off road you can go without air filter and plug change. Oil is super easy change out and well worth doing realistically once per year with top quality synthetic 10-40 oil and filter. Same with glykol ~ wasser coolant.
Agreed, oil change is vital. However I prefer to do the full service.
@@DerekHerbst747agreed friend I was only trying to be helpful not at all judging. It’s actually fun to service machines if the right mindset is undertaken. Safe motoring 😊.
I’d put a clean cloth over those intakes while working to avoid any possible foreign object contamination into engine. Also very careful of open spark plug holes.🕳️🕳️🕳️🕳️
Nicely done!
in only 15k km there is absolutely no sense to check or replace spark plugs as well as that air filter. You could do it in 50k km but modern iridium plugs lasts till, 100k km easily.
Service manual says you are wrong. Every 12000km equals plugs change. Every 4000km is air filter change.

On older CZ P-07 and CZ P-75 the firing pin retainer roll pin is prone to breaking. Can happen as little as 500 rounds and should be replaced. Good idea to have extra firing pin retainer roll pin on hand and in your range bag.
Thanks.
